The Monastery of Batalha, a masterpiece of Portuguese Gothic, is a magnificent piece of architecture that combines several influences from its long period of construction, which lasted several reigns.
A highlight inside is the Founder's Chapel, which houses the tomb of D. João I and D. Filipa de Lencastre, as well as the Ínclita Geração, of which the tomb of Infante D. Henrique, known to the Navigator, with its stained glass windows stands out. century XVI present in the main altar, the cloisters, the Imperfect Chapels with their Manueline style and Flemish Gothic elements and the Chapter House that houses the tomb of the unknown soldier, a tribute to our soldiers who fought in the Battle of La Lys, during the World War I, as well as those who fought in the Colonial War.
The CIBA that presents the Battle of Aljubarrota to the public, in a rigorous, instructive and captivating way, an innovative project that, taking advantage of new technologies, relaunches this heritage set and the experience we can have of it.
